We Explain MLTC and Home Care Eligibility
Many families do not realize that their loved one may be eligible for home care services through Medicaid and MLTC. MLTC stands for Managed Long-Term Care. It is a New York Medicaid care program designed for people who need long-term help with daily living needs, such as bathing, dressing, walking, meal preparation, supervision, and other support at home. MLTC may be an option for individuals who have Medicaid or may qualify for Medicaid, live in the community, and need ongoing home care or long-term care services. Eligibility can depend on age, medical condition, Medicaid status, and the level of help needed at home. New York also has assessment and eligibility requirements for MLTC enrollment, including updated minimum-needs and assessment policies.
